Boat Trip

Departure from Bodrum is scheduled during the morning. On a prescheduled time, you will arrive at the port of Bodrum and complete the passport control. The boat trip to Symi has an approximate duration of 2 hours, and during this time, you can enjoy the views from the deck and snap some photos.

The Island attracts thousands of visitors every year due to its charming character, the warmth and hospitality of the local people, and its important sites. When you arrive there, you will have some hours of free time to explore the island and experience its cosmopolitan character.

Architecture

The first thing to notice when at the port of Symi is the incredible architectural style of the island. More precisely, Symi is known for preserving its traditional architecture as houses have their own special color palette. Take some time to walk around the neighborhoods to admire the charm of these neoclassical houses and interact with the locals.

Sightseeing

In case you wish to proceed with some sightseeing, one interesting place to visit is the archaeological museum. Inside the museum, there is an interesting collection of items from various eras, i.e. Classical, Hellenistic, Roman, and Byzantine. However, the island’s most notable site is the monastery of Archangel Michael Panormitis. There, you can visit the monastery’s facilities, admire the imposing bell tower, and explore the small museums inside.

Shops and Restaurants

Around the port and in the main village, there are multiple shops selling interesting and beautiful souvenirs and handicrafts. In addition, you may find some charming island boutiques selling clothes and handmade jewelries. During your free time, you can also take a break in one of the cafeterias or taverns that the island has. Do not miss the chance to taste some local recipes and delicacies.

Return

At a certain time, you will return back to the port to pass the passport control. The boat trip will allow you to further relax and enjoy the Aegean Sea. Arrival back to Bodrum is expected during the afternoon.
